Award winning Baldvin Z has been one of the most prominent directors in Iceland. He directed all 9 episodes of the critically acclaimed “Case”, 3 episodes of the hit TV series “Trapped” and with 3 feature films under his belt (Let Me Fall, Life In a Fishbowl, Jitters) Baldvin Z. is one of the most exciting and productive directors in the industry. His work has accumulated over 40 film awards, both international as well as 18 Edda awards (the Icelandic Film and Television Academy Awards). “Let Me Fall”, his latest film, released at Toronto Film Festival, became the second highest grossing film in Iceland’s history and “Life in a fishbowl” accumulated a record winning 12 Icelandic Academy Awards in 2015. Since then, he has directed “Island Songs” for Universal Studios, “Beyond Strength”, an independent documentary and “The Journey” a 6-episode drama series. His next directing project, Black Sands, is currently in production.

ANDRI ÓTTARSSON
CREATOR / WRITER / OWNER
Andri Ottarsson entered the industry in 2016 and has since then created, developed and written the award winning TV series “Case”, participated in developing and writing of the TV series “Stella Blomkvist” and took part in the development of the TV series “Thin Ice” and Glassriver’s “Black Sands”, as well as being a script consultant on various other TV series. He has furthermore served as an executive producer on all Glassriver’s series and is currently leading the development of several of Glassriver’s projects. Previously he worked as a police officer, criminal attorney and Secretary General for the largest political party in Iceland.

ARNBJÖRG (ABBÝ) HAFLIÐADÓTTIR
PRODUCER / OWNER
Arnbjorg Haflidadottir (Abby) entered the industry in 2002 and is one of the most experienced Producers in Iceland. She has produced over 100 episodes in 12 television series, as well as TV movies and feature films, both local and international. Her productions have accumulated dozens of film and television awards, both international as well as Edda Awards (the Icelandic Film and Television Academy Awards). She has produced all Glassriver’s productions.

ANDRI ÓMARSSON
CEO / PRODUCER / OWNER
Andri Omarsson has been working in the film industry since 2004.
A versatile jack of all trades he has worked as camera operator, technician, underwater camera operator, assistant producer, line producer, multi-cam director, production manager but has lately specialised in producing scripted format for Television. Since joining the company, he has served as a producer
on all of Glassriver’s productions.

HRÖNN ÞORSTEINSDÓTTIR
CFO
Hronn Thorsteinsdottir has been working in the film industry since 2006.
She started as production accountant for Saga Film but ended up serving as the CFO of the company for the last 8 years. She has participated in a number of projects; both movies and television series, large and small as well as foreign and domestic. She joined the Glassriver team in March 2022.

TEITUR SKÚLASON
LEGAL
Teitur Skulason is a lawyer, specialized in intellectual property and copyright. Before joining Glassriver, he worked as a lawyer, mainly in the field of information technology, privacy law and intellectual property rights. His focus is on all contracts, licensing and other legal issues concerning Glassriver’s projects.

ELÍSABET HALL
HEAD OF NON-SCRIPTED / PRODUCER
Elisabet Hall has over 8 years experience in the industry. She started her career in news, working her way up from production assistant to be the head of news production for Channel 2 TV and Radio news. As a broadcast director Elísabet has over 700 live and live to tape broadcasts under her belt, ranging from news to talk shows. She has extensive experience as a producer, both in numerous non-scripted and scripted formats. Currently, she heads the non-scripted department of Glassriver, using her profound skills and experience to develope, plan, coordinate and direct all phases of the company’s television programming and operations.

KLARA ALEXANDRA
OFFICE MANAGER
A motivated, enthusiastic and constructive team player/leader, Klara Alexandra Sigurdardottir, started her career in the industry as a Production Assistant in Ordinary People 3. There was no turning back after that and she has worked on all of Glassriver’s productions to date. She is the Office Manager of Glassriver, using her management experience from her former work with several companies, upbeat attitude, skills and experience to keep the office afloat.

BJARNEY KRISTINSDÓTTIR
ACCOUNTING
Bjarney Kristinsdóttir entered the film industry in 2014 as an office manager and receptionist, where she participated in diverse projects both on and off set. She enjoys working with creative people in a productive environment and has a unique set of skills, multitasking between accounting, event planning and festival applications, while making sure that the office and all our guests are well taken care of. Working in step with our CFO, Bjarney works in Glassriver’s finance department and accounting.

BIRNA HJALTALÍN
LINE PRODUCER
Birna Hjaltalín has been working in the film industry since 2016. Her first experience in the industry was when she took a PA position in the film „I remember you” in 2014 while still studying psychology at the University. She became hooked and, after graduating in 2016, started working full time on both Film and Television. Although, she has left the world of academia, her education comes in handy almost every day, in communication with the crew, dispute-settling and ensuring good workplace environment. Her flight upwards in the industry has been fast and furious and she has worked as a location manager, production coordinator, line producer and production manager. Since joining Glassriver, she has served as a line producer on most of the Glassriver’s productions.

ANNA LÓA KJERÚLF
ACCOUNTING
Anna Lóa Kjerúlf is all about the numbers. An enthusiast designer of knitted clothing with a BSc degree in Business and Financing, she started working with Glassriver in 2018, taking over accounting and finance. Before working with Glassriver, her main experience from the TV industry was viewing from the couch so the last years have been quite a journey into the intriguing world of the industry. Now she is learning something new every day and loves everything about it.

BIRKIR ÁSGEIRSSON
POST PRODCTION
Meet Birkir, a motion designer and a VFX compositor with over 8 years in the industry. With a thirst for knowledge and a passion for creating stunning visual experiences, Birkir made a pivotal decision to enhance his skills by studying VFX compositing in the vibrant city of Vancouver, Canada. This immersive experience provided Birkir with invaluable insights into the world of cinematic magic. Birkir has worked on blockbusters shows for streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ and HBO. Through dedication and a keen eye for detail, he has contributed his talents to bring captivating stories to life on the silver screen.

TÓMAS WELDING
POST PRODUCTION
Tómas is a versatile filmmaker whose passion for storytelling sparked at a young age when he wielded his first camera at the age of 12. Five years down the line and a few showreels later, he made waves by becoming one of the youngest students at the Icelandic Film School at just 17. With a repertoire spanning camera operating, editing, sound engineering, color grading, and visual effects, Tómas gained the nick name “Swiss Army Knife” by former co-workers. His journey includes stints at various advertisement agencies and production companies, where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience.
Tómas joined the Glassriver team late 2023.
